Linx strengthens South American presence

Linx Printing Technologies is strengthening its presence in South America with the appointment of a new distributor to support its operations in Colombia.

Linea Adhesiva, based in Sabaneta, Antioquia, is a leading manufacturer of labels and packaging materials and a supplier of marking solutions including labelling and print-and-apply labelling equipment. Through its strategic alliance with Solpack, the largest packing machinery manufacturer in Colombia, the company is able to offer complete packing line solutions

Linea Adhesiva will provide full sales and service support for Linx’s range of Continuous Ink Jet printers, laser coders and thermal transfer overprinters, providing an extensive choice of machines to meet the needs of a variety of end markets including food, beverage, pharma and healthcare, cosmetics, and construction.

Linx says the Colombian market is moving away from its dependence on oil with growth in a number of other sectors. New coding requirements are also being introduced for certain applications, for example the inclusion of temperature and time information on frozen products, and importer data and licence details for pharmaceuticals. This is leading to increased demand for coders with multiple line capabilities, along with typical requirements for reliable operation, and ease of set-up and changeovers.
