Linx associates get on their bikes for charity

A team of cyclists from coding and marking specialist Linx Printing Technologies has completed a challenging 349-mile charity bike ride from St. Ives in Cornwall to the company’s headquarters in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. The group’s endeavours have so far successfully raised over £3,500 and the Linx associates are on course to reach their annual target of £10,000 for their chosen charity of the year, Children with Cancer UK.

The core team of riders – Adam Wilcox, Paul Gregory, Ben Green, Hugh O’Sullivan, Cameron Nelson, Jamie Shelley, Tom Manwaring, Simon West, John Elworthy, and Ian Winters, were joined by other Linx members during their journey and accompanied by Dan Barnes and Ash Patel in the support vehicle. Setting off from St Ives, Cornwall at 7am on Friday 13th May, the riders arrived back at Linx head office in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, at 3pm on Monday 16th May. The team trained to the tune of 1000+ hours for the event.

The team of cyclists were welcomed back by a stream of Linx associates, congratulating them as they cycled in to Linx. The company also organised food, drinks, and ice cream for associates to celebrate the achievement together.

Paul Gregory, the organiser of the event, said “It was a fantastic effort from everyone in the Linx cycling team to complete the gruelling 349-mile route. We are so pleased to have completed it after so many weeks of planning and training in all weathers. We have managed to raise a large sum of money for such a great charity, that has directly supported one of our associates’ family and friends. Well done all.”

The event was part of Linx’s 2022’s charitable activities, in which the company and associates will be supporting several endeavours, including the London Marathon, with the aim of reaching its £10,000 annual fundraising target for Children with Cancer UK.
