Overall, we developed the Linx 9000 Series continuous inkjet printers using feedback from production managers worldwide to solve real production challenges. These include line downtime, slow changeovers, code errors and rising running costs. Therefore, the range helps simplify everyday coding, improve reliability and make operations easier to manage.

The Linx 9000 Series reduces the everyday pressures associated with coding and marking. For example, from downtime and changeovers to code accuracy and operating costs, each feature removes common production challenges. Consequently, production managers spend less time dealing with printer issues and more time improving operations.

Eliminate unplanned downtime

  • Automatic printhead cleaning: The Linx SureClean® wash station option delivers hands-free, thorough cleaning at the push of a button. Therefore, no training is required. Read more about Linx SureClean
  • Customisable cleaning reminders:  Set cleaning reminders to fit your schedule. In this way, you can help prevent faults before they happen.
  • Keep printing during loss of power: Linx PrintProtect® keeps the printer running for up to 3 minutes if power is interrupted or the plug is pulled. Then it completes a shutdown procedure.

Maximise changeover efficiency

  • Change lines quickly on battery power: Linx PrintProtect lets you unplug and move the printer on 9 minutes of battery power. As a result, no jet restart is required.
  • Message selection from external devices: Change messages in real time from external systems. This means you can speed up changeovers while also reducing errors.

Ensure every code is present and correct

  • Simple to use integrated vision system: Every code is checked to ensure it is present, correct, and readable by Linx Iris® (option). As a result, manual inspection is removed, which minimises waste and rework while protecting customer trust. Read more about Linx Iris
  • Prevent code errors: Create messages on a laptop or desktop PC with Linx Message Studio®. Then, send them directly to the printer to improve accuracy and reduce errors.
  • GS1® code ready: Create error-free GS1-compliant Data Matrix codes using the Linx 9000’s GS1 builder tool on the printer interface. Read more about GS1 codes

Reduce running costs

  • Up to 48% less ink: The 50-micron printhead option uses less ink for more print. Consequently, running costs are reduced.
  • Up to 42% solvent reduction: Active Airflow Control technology (option) lowers solvent use. As a result, you can improve efficiency while reducing consumption.

  • Long service intervals: Achieve up to 24 months between services. At the same time, servicing can be completed self-service or by an engineer in under 30 minutes.

Monitor KPIs and printer status remotely

  • Control and monitor anytime, anywhere: Check print job status remotely from a PC, tablet or smartphone with Linx PrinterNet®. Additionally, you can set up real-time email notifications, so you can respond quickly to issues. Meanwhile, production line data can be collected to help plan improvements more effectively.

Inks for any application and material

  • General purpose inks: Offer excellent adhesion and contrast on a wide range of porous and non-porous materials. As such, they suit many everyday applications.
  • Coloured inks:  Deliver strong contrast across both light and dark substrates. Therefore, codes remain clear and easy to read.
  • Process-specific inks: Designed for applications where products are subjected to additional processes after coding, such as sterilisation or chemical exposure. Consequently, code durability is maintained.
  • Enhanced EHS compliance inks: MEK-free, halogen-free, non-CMR and PFAS-free options support safer handling, improved workplace air quality and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, they help manufacturers meet evolving compliance needs.

Minimal cleaning and servicing interventions

  • No daily cleaning: Only clean weekly, unlike other pigmented printers which require daily cleaning. Also, it is compatible with the Linx SureClean automatic wash station.
  • Shut down for up to one month: Power down the Linx 9000 Series Spectrum printers for up to a month without flushing or draining. Then, resume printing immediately.
  • Long Service Intervals: Benefit from up to 12 months between services, which is twice that of other pigmented printers.

High-quality opaque print

  • Unique Vortex® mixing tank: The Vortex mixing tank features a unique contoured shape, which continuously collects and re-disperses pigment in the ink. As a result, consistent ink performance is maintained. Therefore, you can achieve high-contrast, reliable coding across demanding applications.

Automatic ink filtration

  • PureFlow® 5x filtration: Reduce the risk of blockages in the printhead, without loss of opacity. This is because the system filters the ink up to five times. As a result, you can achieve more reliable performance and consistent print quality.

Can a 9000 Series printer handle dusty, hot production environments?

Printers for harsh industrial environments are typically specialized, heavy-duty units with high Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, and often require additional protective stainless-steel enclosures to handle dust, heat, and corrosive conditions. The 9940 and 9940 Spectrum are IP65 rated and ideal for harsh environments.

What materials can the 9000 Series print on?

The Linx 9000 Series CIJ printers are versatile and can print on a wide range of substrates, including: Paper, Coated card, Plastics, Glass, Rubber, Metal and Cardboard.

This makes them suitable for many industries, including: food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, chemicals, automotive, cabling and extrusion.

How often does the Linx 9000 Series need maintenance?

Thanks to long service intervals, sealed printheads, and easy self-servicing, Linx CIJ printers require less frequent maintenance than many other coding systems. Routine cleaning and fluid top-ups are quick and user-friendly, helping reduce downtime and extend printer life. Please refer to the product brochure for service intervals for each model.

Which 9000 Series model is right for me?

Each printer model in the 9000 Series has unique specifications. Please refer to the product brochure or contact your local distributor, who can discuss the right product for your business.
