8940 Printer Ink Management
PureFlow
PureFlow is another patent-pending innovation – a specialist filter designed to purify heavy pigmented ink, without losing any colour.
PureFlow is a powerful filtration system which refines all of the ink in the Spectrum tank, a continuous filtration reduces the risk of blockages in the printhead, and delivers high-contrast, quality marking with every code.
Vortex
Patent-pending Vortex, our latest innovation made specifically for ensuring brilliant white print with brilliant print quality.
Vortex is a robust mixing tank with unique contours to collect the heavy pigment sediment in the ink. The continuous, fast mixer of the Vortex system re-disperses the pigment into the ink delivering a high-contrast, opaque print every time.
Applications of 8940
The Linx 8940 industrial inkjet printing machine can be used in a number of different industries and on a wide variety of substrates. The innovations and benefits are particularly suited to-
Beverage

Reliable marking on bottles/jars with high uptime.
High-speed production lines with changing message requirements can be served by the Linx 8940 industrial continuous inkjet printer with its line speeds of up to 10m/s, and live message creation and editing during printing.
Automotive

Excellent opacity, even on challenging substrates.
Marking even on small components. High-opacity inks in white, grey, and blue provide high-contrast codes in extreme conditions, and with strong adherence for traceability.
Extrusion

Clear, durable contrast codes.
Ideal for plastic and metal pipes and extruded parts. Unique innovations provide assurance that the production line will not need stopping, minimising downtime and keeping your extruder running.
Wire and Cable

Metre marking and fast line speeds.
Designed for fast wire and cable applications, the Linx 8940 has ‘metre marking’ for measuring the wire and cable and coding the message at the correct intervals.

FAQ- 8940 Printer
The Linx 8940 Spectrum delivers superior contrast on dark or challenging substrates because it is purpose-built for hard-pigmented inks something standard printing system, including all other CIJ brands, aren’t optimized for. The 8940 Spectrum’s purpose-built design makes it one of the strongest performers in the UK market, delivering outstanding stability, superior contrast, and significantly reduced operator intervention.
Its patented Vortex® mixing system keeps heavy pigments fully dispersed, while the PureFlow® filtration system continuously cleans and recirculates ink to prevent settling and blockages. This ensures consistently opaque, high-contrast codes with minimal cleaning and long service intervals (up to 8,000 hours/12 months). Paired with high-opacity inks, the 8940 Spectrum achieves reliable print quality in harsh environments.
The Linx 8940 Spectrum is a printer- for cables and wires using challenging pigmented inks. Its patented Vortex® mixing and PureFlow® filtration systems keep pigments fully dispersed, delivering strong, opaque codes with minimal cleaning and long service intervals—up to 8,000 hours or 12 months. It can reliably restart after long shutdowns, making it ideal for non-continuous operations.
The Linx 8940 Spectrum excels where pigmented inks are required for high-contrast results, offering greater reliability and less maintenance than typical CIJ models in these demanding applications.
